Students meet with their Counselor twice per month on average, and are guided through the whole process of applying to foreign universities. Counselors help students select ten universities, to diversify students\u2019 options. in your studies!<br \/>\nLANGUAGE PROGRAM CURRICULUM &#038; SCHEDULE<br \/>\n2017 \u2013 2018 Academic Calendar<br \/>\nWe offer a variety of Arabic and Amazigh language courses to fit your individual needs. Within each dialect, there are four levels: Beginner, Low Intermediate, High Intermediate, and Advanced. While Beginner and Low Intermediate levels focus on the foundational elements of the language, High Intermediate and Advanced levels are conversational.<br \/>\nLearners are divided by level. Anyone entering Safir with previous Arabic or Amazigh language experience will be required to take an in-house LPI with a certified instructor.<br \/>\n Moroccan Arabic<br \/>\nOur Moroccan Arabic courses are designed for those who are looking to begin or advance their communicative abilities. Using the Peace Corps Morocco textbook, learners will acquire a range of useable knowledge that is directly related to their context in Morocco. Transliteration and the Arabic alphabet will be taught, although the course trajectory will move towards Arabic alphabet-use only. An LPI will be administered at the end of each level.<br \/>\n Modern Standard Arabic<br \/>\nOur Modern Standard Arabic courses are designed for those who are looking to begin or advance their reading, writing, and communicative abilities. Using the Al Kitaab series, our instructors will bring to life the academic content while bridging this language with its real-world application. The Arabic alphabet will be taught from the beginning and used exclusively. An LPI will be administered at the end of each level.<br \/>\nTachelhit and Tamazight<br \/>\n Our Tachelhit and Tamazight courses are designed for those who are looking to begin or advance their communicative abilities. Using the Peace Corps Morocco textbook, learners will acquire a range of useable knowledge that is directly related to their context in Morocco. Transliteration and the Tifinagh alphabet will be taught, although the course trajectory will move towards Tifinagh alphabet-use only. If a student cancels a class less than 24 hours beforehand, that class cannot be rescheduled and is nonrefundable.<br \/>\nFor semester classes, students who miss class are welcome to reschedule private tutoring lessons to catch up, at a rate of 150 Dhs \/ hour.<br \/>\nOUR TEAM<br \/>\nMustapha Ezzarghani<br \/>\nMustapha is the Founder and Executive Director of the Safir Company and the Noon Arabic Program. Mustapha is a native of Marrakech, Morocco, who has grown up speaking 4 languages. Mustapha has several years\u2019 worth of teaching and tutoring experience in both Arabic and English. From 2011 until 2013, he tutored students in rural areas of Marrakech through a program run by Morocco\u2019s Ministry of Education. He also taught English at the American School Language Institute in Fes, Morocco, and was the middle school math instructor at the American School of Fes. From 2014 through the spring of 2015, he studied English at two different intensive language programs in Athens, GA and in Cambridge, MA. Mustapha currently resides in the United States.<br \/>\nLalla Amina Bachiri<br \/>\nLalla Amina is the Financial Director of the Safir Company and the Noon Arabic Program. She is a native of Errachidia, Morocco and has an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Management from the Academy of Paris \u2013 Creteil and an advanced degree in Accounting and Finance from the Academy of Paris. Since 1995, Lalla Amina has worked in finance for several construction and development companies in Rabat and Meknes. She has a deep interest in improving the educational opportunities for Moroccans and foreigners in Morocco. Lalla Amina currently resides in Rabat, Morocco.<br \/>\nBadr Allouche<br \/>\nBadr Allouche is the Community Relations Manager and Lead Teacher at the Safir Company. He is a native of Sale, but grew up all over Morocco. He holds a degree in commerce and is continuing his English Studies at the University Ibn Tofail in Kenitra, Morocco. Badr has four years of extensive experience as a Language and Culture Facilitator with the United States Peace Corps, teaching immersive Moroccan Arabic.<br \/>\nSarah Quinn<br \/>\nSarah is the East Coast Representative of the Safir Company and the Noon Arabic Program. Sarah is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She holds a B.A. and a B.F.A. from the University of Georgia in Art History and Fine Arts and an M.Ed. from Harvard University. From 2011-2014, Sarah taught English in rural Morocco as a United States Peace Corps volunteer. She has several years of experience working as a museum educator, designing educational programs and materials for a variety of audiences at the Georgia Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Harvard Art Museums. From 2015 \u2013 2017, Sarah served as the Director of the American School Language Institute in Fes, Morocco, where she oversaw the daily operations and long-term vision of the English language program. Sarah currently resides in the United States.<br \/>\nPaul Fischer<br \/>\nPaul is the West Coast Representative of the Safir Company and the Noon Arabic Program. Paul is a native of California. He graduated in 2013 from The George Washington University with a B.A. in International Affairs, concentrating in Conflict Resolution and Latin America. Afterwards, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he taught English and worked with the United Nations Development Programme. From 2015-2016, Paul was a Youth Development Peace Corps Volunteer in Agourai, Morocco. Afterwards, he taught math at the American School of Fes and worked as an English instructor at the American School Language Institute in Fes, Morocco. Paul currently resides in the United States.<br \/>\nElizabeth Jay<br \/>\nElizabeth is a University Counselor at the Safir. She comes to us after serving in the Youth Development sector of the US Peace Corps for the past four years in a small community located in the mountains just outside of Marrakech. Before she came to Morocco, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Indianapolis, teaching \u201cIntro to Sociology\u201d and \u201cSocial Problems\u201d courses. She holds a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from DePauw University (with a minor in French) and an MA in Applied Sociology from the University of Indianapolis. Much of her academic background focused on women and cross-cultural examinations of society. This greatly influenced her decision to join Peace Corps and work with disadvantaged populations across the country, namely girls and women. She is passionate about helping youth and is eager to put her energies towards helping Moroccan students who wish to study abroad. Working as a speech and writing counselor during her undergraduate, paired with her personal experiences applying for universities and study abroad programs, has given Elizabeth the proper tools and training to give students a competitive edge when filling out applications, editing essays, and applying for scholarships.
