Syrian diva Mayada El Hennawi will perform on Saturday, June 22nd at the Mohammed V National Theater instead of Ziyad Rahbani.
Rabat, Saturday, May 24th 2019: The Maroc Cultures Association regrets to announce the cancellation of Ziyad Rahbani’s concert, due to health reasons, that was scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd, at the Mohammed V National Theater, as part of the 18th edition of the Mawazine Festival -Rhythms of the World.
It is the singer Mayada El Hennawi who will perform that same evening. Recognized for her unique and melodious voice, the Syrian diva, nicknamed “the singer of love”, is the author of an impressive discography. Her career, begun in the 1970s after a decisive encounter with the legendary Mohamed Abdelwahab and is marked by prestigious collaborations with the greatest Arab lyricists and composers such as Ahmed Rami, Riad El Sonbaty as well as the Egyptian Baligh Hamdi who composed the majority of her successes, including Sidi Ana, Al-hob elli kan and Ana Baachaak.
The Maroc Cultures Association informs festival goers that tickets already purchased for Ziyad Rahbani’s concert will remain valid and must be kept for those who wish to attend the Mayada El Hennawi concert. Those who wish can also request a refund by going to the Mawazine point of sale where they made their purchase.
